I only wrote How to be a Chief Risk Officer three years ago. However, the world has changed so much in that time. Back then, we were emerging from Covid. We worried about bounce back loans being repaid. Russia hadn’t yet invaded Ukraine. ChatGPT hadn’t come out yet. Trade relations around the world were ‘normal’.
So, before I sat down to commit the book to Audible, I decided to give the book a little refresh. It turned into a lot more than that.
– I added new chapters – on Operational Resilience and Risk Reporting
– I split out a chapter on AI, data and analytics from risk systems – both areas needed deeper analysis
– I updated the Emerging area
– I expanded the definitions of risks at the end to include 75 risks across six different categories
In the end, I touched every single chapter and the result is the updated How to be a CRO book, Audible – and online course.
